Equifax reveals full scope of 2017 data breach

Nearly 147 million Americans were affected by the Equifax data breach in 2017, now the company is breaking down just what hackers got away with

In a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission the credit reporting agency revealed 145.5 million Americans had their Social Security Numbers stolen. 146.6 million people had their names and birth dates stolen. Hackers also accessed 99 million addresses, 20.3 million phone numbers, and 209,000 credit card numbers. 

Equifax also said 182,000 passports, driver's licenses, and military IDs consumers uploaded to dispute credit reports were also compromised.
