EAST BALTIMORE-- Help make a change, even if it's a small one.

That's the message black lives matter demonstrators gave at a rally at Patterson Park Wednesday.

Organizers said the protest served several purposes, including highlighting police brutality and honoring the lives of those lost in the fight against social injustice.

One organizer said, they also want to have the younger generation’s voice heard. “We just want people to realize that this generation is really strongly opinionated about what's going on, and we're here, we're present,” said Keishla De Leon. “We just want them to realize that things need to end and things need to end now, especially for our future and for our children.”

One of the concerns with protests has been the potential spread of covid-19.

Organizers said they told people before the demonstration started that they had to wear masks and socially distance, to participate.
