Uber is joining the dockless electric service game in Baltimore.

Uber's JUMP e-scooters are now another way for people to get around Baltimore.

Riders will need the Uber app to unlock a JUMP scooter. You can reserve a scooter via the app or walk up to an available scooter and scan a QR code to unlock it. The scooters are free to unlock and cost 15 cents a minute.

“At Uber, we are working towards a world where Baltimore residents can easily live without a car by taking advantage of a wide variety of transportation options, from scooters to rideshare and beyond, requested right from the Uber app,” said Loic Amado, Uber’s East Coast General Manager of Scooters.

“Today’s launch gets us closer to that vision by giving people in Baltimore an affordable, environmentally friendly way to get from point A to point B.“

To promote safe riding Uber will be giving away free helmets, while supplies last, at Baltimore Bicycle Works.
