Nearly 500 walkers came out for the 4th year of GBMC's Walk a Mile in Their Shoes.
The event raises money for GBMC's SAFE and Domestic Violence programs and this year, thanks to walkers and local business contributions, the event raised over $98,000.
Registered nurses in the program are trained and certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing to provide services for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
The event is hosted by the GBMC Foundation and presented by the GBMC Volunteer Auxiliary. It's an opportunity to educate the community about sexual assault and domestic violence against men and women.
Participants walked a mile on this beautiful Saturday morning around GBMC’s campus.
