NASHVILLE (AP) -- Keith Urban says being nominated for the Academy of Country Music entertainer of the year award is "the highest honor imaginable."
Urban says he's been a musician since he was six and he's played on stages since he was 7. Urban leads the ACM nominations with seven. Lauren Alaina posted a video online in which she says she's "crying like an idiot in the airport" after finding out she's up for the new female vocalist award.
Maren Morris, who has six nominations and just won a Grammy, tweets that "this week couldn't get any better."
Urban's competition for entertainer of the year is last year's winner Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Carrie Underwood, who has won the award every time she's been nominated for it. Bryan and Dierks Bentley return as hosts for the show, set for April 2 in Las Vegas.
