Spring has sprung at the 2020 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which kicked off March 4 at Walt Disney World and runs through June 1, 2020. While the colorful gardens and topiaries may be the official stars of this show, if you come for the flowers and don’t stay for the food, you’ll be missing out on some seriously delectable dishes.

Case in point: this Mini Funnel Cake topped with lemon cheesecake ice cream, blueberries and powdered sugar, which is looking like this year’s frontrunner for fest favorite. Available for $7 at the Funnel Cake Stand at the American Adventure pavilion, Disney Food Blog is calling this crispy, personal-sized funnel cake a “best of the fest,” and we have to agree.

But if you need some savory snacks before you load up on this sweet treat, there’s a new booth at the American Adventure pavilion this year that’s got everyone excited.

Inspired by America’s Gulf region, Magnolia Terrace is serving up Grilled Oysters, freshly shucked and made to order in the outdoor kitchen. Also on the menu is a Southern Seafood Boil with shrimp, mussels, crawfish, potatoes, corn and Andouille sausage, House-made Boudin Two Ways and two different pecan-laden desserts.

Elsewhere across the festival, it’s really all about the produce. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are taking center stage on festival booth menus. Returning festival favorites include vegan dishes like the Grilled Street Corn on the Cob and this Impossible Farmhouse Meatball at Trowel & Trellis.

If you’re headed to the festival with kids in tow, look out for the strawberry icon on menus, which denotes that a dish is kid-friendly, like this Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade, another returning festival favorite, at Pineapple Promenade.

Over-the-Top Topiaries

While you’re eating and drinking your way around the fest, check out the elaborate topiaries, created every year just for this festival. New this year is Remy from “Ratatouille,” perched on top of a wheel of cheese in the France pavilion.

Kids love searching for their favorite characters in foliage form and the topiaries make for awesome vacation photo ops.

Find Lady and the Tramp over in the Italy pavilion.

And the cutest Kermit the Frog we’ve ever seen is near the UK pavilion.

Other Festival Highlights

In addition to the food and flowers, Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival features the Garden Rocks Concert Series, bringing notable names like Don McLean, Rick Springfield and Daughtry to the stage several times a night.

There are also interactive play areas that keep kids entertained while parents take a load off in a shaded seat and two fun scavenger hunts that give families a fun way to explore the whole festival.
