ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — A 30-year-old Columbia man was found guilty of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct on Friday for exposing his genitalia and fondling himself in front of teenage girls on two separate occasions in 2018.

According to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office, in March 2018, members of the Atholton High girls' track team were running when they saw a man expose himself and masturbate inside his parked vehicle. The students reported the incident to the school administration and police were called to investigate.

Then, approximately two weeks later on April 16, officials say some of the same students were participating in practice when they observed the same man in the same vehicle, once again masturbating inside his vehicle.

Police say a witness was able to identify the man as Andrew James Cleary as the person involved in both incidents.

Cleary was found guilty of two counts of indecent exposure and two counts of disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, 2019.
