FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — A tractor trailer struck and killed a 26-year-old Urbana man overnight Thursday on I-270.
Troopers were dispatched around 3:50 a.m., to I-270 North, just South of Fingerboard Road in Frederick County.
Paramedics pronounced Eric M. Sugrowe dead at the scene.
An investigation suggests Sugrowe was walking in the road when a Freightliner truck hauling two trailers was unable to stop and hit him.
It's unclear why Sugrowe was in the street, and if speeding or any other factors contributed to the crash.
