Lockheed Martin is looking to lay off a thousand people, and that includes dozens of jobs in Maryland.

The company is downsizing its aeronautics division, and is offering buyouts to employees to try and keep the firm competitive. The voluntary program is being offered to mid-level employees in seven locations.

Lockheed Martin could cut around 100 positions out of 400 total positions from its Patuxent River location.
