Are you looking to save some money while stocking up on all the things you need before the school year starts?
Tax Free Week in Maryland runs through Saturday and clothes and shoes under $100 are eligible for the exemption.
"It makes a difference because of the prices and you're spending less so everyone should come on and take advantage of it," shopper Darlene Young, said.
And she's not alone. Josie Larkin is taking full advantage of the tax free week, designed to give shoppers a break as summer comes to an end.
"I think it's a great opportunity especially for children that are going back to school, parents, it's a great tax break," she said.
Shoppers say it's the most needed items that are eligible.
"Clothing is a big item, back to school items for the kids is another big item," Larkin said.
And the savings really make a difference.
"I went and got some uniforms for my granddaughter something that will really cost 200 and something dollars, I spent $150," Young said.
After Saturday, the next time to enjoy tax free shopping is in February. Those savings are applied to energy star products. You can find a whole list of eligible items on the state comptrollers website.
