Lime recalled some of its electric scooters because the batteries in them could potentially catch on fire.
The company released a statementsaying it learned back in August of an issue with some batteries in its Ninebot model scooters.
While there are Lime scooters here in Baltimore, this model of scooter wasn't in the city.
Instead, it was in Los Angeles, San Diego and Lake Tahoe.
The recall impacted less than 0.01% of the company's scooter fleet (or about 2,000 scooters).
Lime says it takes full responsibility for its scooters and that no riders were ever put at risk.
