Hotel chain Hyatt and McDonald's are the latest companies announcing they'll phase out plastic straws.
McDonald's, though, is only getting rid of straws at its restaurants in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
It's all part of an effort to minimize the environmental impact of plastic.
8,000,000 metric tons of plastic enter the ocean every year, according to the nonprofit Ocean Conservancy.
