The Maryland Department of Health is urging Marylanders to avoid a brand of papaya fruit.

Caribena's yellow, Maradol papayas may be contaminated with salmonella. The department tested five papayas from Baltimore retailers and found three of the five were contaminated.

Customers who purchased the papayas are asked to throw them away.
