BBB warns of holiday scams

The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about a new online and phone scam.

First, there’s the Secret Sister gift exchange on Facebook. Scammers tell you to put your name on a list to get 36 presents, as long as you get your friends to sign up.

But the presents never arrive.

Also, watch for phony e-cards and letters from Santa. Many are laced with malware that will infect your computer and steal your personal information.

The BBB has also seen a spike in fake charities asking for donations. They suggest doing your research before clicking on any links.
