Baltimore County hopes to bring new job opportunities to the historic Sparrows Point shipyard.

Transportation company Pasha Automotive Services plans to open an auto terminal at Tradepoint Atlantic. The company says it will lease 21-acres to operate its imported car business, creating up to 50 new jobs.

"Tradepoint Atlantic is rapidly living up to its potential as the most important jobs generator in the region," Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said in a news release. "With each new tenant, we come closer to returning 10,000 jobs to Sparrows Point."

Fiat Chrysler vehicles will be the company’s first imports at the Sparrows Point terminal.

Tradepoint Atlantic has invested $5 million on infrastructure upgrades for the development of the site, including such as berth improvements, security upgrades and additional roadway infrastructure.
