A Catonsville family got the best Christmas present ever just as the clock struck 12 on New Year's Eve!

Baltimore's first baby of 2019 was born at Medstar Harbor Hospital Tuesday morning at 12:02 a.m.

"I love her. I just want to hold her and wake her up but I'm not going to do that!" said excited mother, Chavon Wethington.

"We've been trying to get her out for awhile, she just wasn't coming out."

That lead to Chavon's doctor choosing to perform a C-section making 6 pound 11 ounce Snow Violet Taylor, Baltimore's first baby of 2019. Chavon was in labor for two days!

"Right now I'm just happy that it's over! The contractions were horrible!"

The now family of three had no idea they'd be getting so much attention on New Year's Day!

"My mom predicted it. She was like you might have the first baby of the new year and I said, I don't think so! Her due date is the 30th and she just might come right out but sure enough she was the first one and I was shocked," said Wethington.

The new mother's intuition was already kicking in when reflecting on little Snow's future.

"She's definitely feisty and has a mind of her own already fixating and fussing with nurses about her needles and stuff! She's going to be strong willed."

Dad, Donovan Taylor said his daughter's unique name wasn't an accident.

"I always wanted to name the baby snow she actually wanted a boy, I wanted a girl!"

Now that Snow has made her debut to the world, the new parents already have high hopes and are overcome with happiness.

I've been wanting this since I was little. To take care of my own child and make sure she grows up in a better place, better education and it's amazing," said Taylor.

"I am happy that she's healthy and that she's here...no complaints. I just love her," Wethington told WMAR 2 News.
