6-year-old dies after shooting, $25K reward offered for info leading to arrest

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A six-year-old boy is dead after a shooting on the Fourth of July.

Around 7:50 p.m., officers responded to the 4500 block of Akron Street for a shooting.

Once they arrived, they saw three people injured from gunshot wounds, including six-year-old Ahsan Payton.

Payton was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died from his injuries.

Police say, the two adults had non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting took place during a holiday gathering in the neighborhood.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
