FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Jury selection has begun in Frederick for the trial of a 20-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing her grandmother.

Lawyers aimed to seat a jury late Monday for the trial of Hestina Harris. They plan opening statements Tuesday Harris is charged with first-degree murder in the December 2014 slaying of 67-year-old Lillie Morris.

Morris was found bleeding on the front lawn of the Burkittsville-area home she shared with her husband, her granddaughter and Harris' 4-month-old daughter.

Harris told police she saw a man in a ski mask running from the house. Investigators found blood on Harris' arms and clothing that she said came from her efforts to help her wounded grandmother.
