Aberdeen Middle School was the target of 4 threats on social media on Tuesday. The first happened around 7:30 a.m. and it was unfounded.
The Aberdeen Police Department was made aware of 3 more threats of violence later that day.
One of the threats targeted a specific student.
As a result of the investigation, an 8th grade student has been referred to the Department of Juvenile Services for threats of mass violence and disturbing school operations and activities.
As a result of the first threat, the school was placed on a modified lockdown and access to the building was limited.
Classes went on Tuesday as normal.
