Prostitution and human trafficking ring sting nets six arrests in Howard County

An undercover operation by the Howard County Police Department resulted in the arrest of six men on solicitation of prostitution and related charges, police said.

The would-be johns were busted at a hotel in the 8100 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup, police said. Detectives placed fake ads on websites known as places used for prostitution, leaving a number for interested parties to call. Men who dialed the number talked to an undercover female officer who suggested the meeting point upon the interested client's request.

When the men arrived at the hotel and offered money for sex, they were arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution and disorderly conduct, police said. Those arrested were: Kenneth Ballard, 53, of Princess Anne; Alexander Collins, 30, of Crofton; Nigal Khan, 33, of Beltsville; Thong Nun, 35, of Ellicott City; Pierre Raymond, 27, of Beltsville; and Daoning Zhang, 44, of Columbia.

The sting was part of Howard County's larger effort to thwart prostitution, human trafficking, and related offenses by making the county a less appealing place for such criminal behavior.
