EDGEWATER, Md. - Students and teachers at the Summit School in Edgewater will get a first look at their school's new appearance next month.
Through WMAR's Built Upon A Dream project, the nonprofit school, which educates students with language-based learning disabilities, received a physical makeover worth more than $200,000.
Styled after ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Built Upon A Dream offers local nonprofits a chance for a makeover of their facilities.
Volunteer contractors and suppliers upgraded the school's roofing, paint job, fencing, landscaping and electrical systems. Many individual corporate donations were valued at more than $25,000.
